Nation-wide Mapping & GIS Development of the Textile Industries to Analyze the Requirement of Combined Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP’s)

Ministry of Textile Industries (MINTEX), Government of Pakistan decided to initiate a nationwide mapping of the entire textile industry sector to identify and priorities future interventions and prepare a comprehensive policy on environmental compliance of the textile industries. The study, “Nationwide Mapping of Industries to Analyze the Requirement of Effluent Treatment Plants" has been prepared in order to fulfill the requirement of the ToR laid by the Ministry of Textile. This report was prepared to help out the Consultant and the Ministry of Textile towards achieving their goal in the most effective manner.
The methodology and procedure employed for the cluster mapping of textile industry was participatory in nature i.e. maximum participation from stakeholders and government agencies was required. It is designed to ensure maximum benefits for the textile industry. All the data collected during the fieldwork was fully analyzed. Recommendations were made after the detailed analysis of data. Survey teams utilized their resources to collect data regarding the industrial units to find out the outlets of the clusters. The knowledge regarding the outlets facilitated to chalk out the business zones. The process of establishment of zones was broken into steps in order to finalize the results.
