Narrative Description of Project: The Water Supply and Sanitation Section consists of review of the effectiveness of current and proposed policies and institutions for managing water supply and sanitation and provide recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of Ministry of Environment (MOE) in helping to achieve national goals.
Description of Actual Services Provided by Your Staff: The services include:
- Review of the mandates under different legislation and policies for MOE’s involvement in water supply and sanitation, and its role and responsibilities in the National Coordination Committee on water sanit
- Assess the existing institutional resources and capabilities in the Ministry for meeting these
- Identify critical areas of overlap or conflict of responsibilities for upgrading water supply and sanitation between the various levels of government.
- Clarify who should have the lead responsibility for the different areas such as information, planning, regulation, finance, community works, network system and major treatment works and other infrastructure.
