Narrative Description of Project:

Currently Karachi does not have a single mass transit system to mobilize the large population and the economic activity of the city. In the context of the above-mentioned situation, the introduction of the Green Line BRT & Orange Line BRT system is expected to provide a certain degree of relief to both the citizens as well as the environment of the city. In this project the consultants will assist the SIDCL in its capacity building before the commencement of BRT Operations and will run the Procurement process for essential services for BRT Operations i.e., Station Manager, Funds Manger etc. The consultants will also assist the SIDCL in running the BRT Operations in its First Year of Operations.

Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff within the Assignment:

Scope of Work included:
  1. To Plan BRT Services for BRT Green & Orange Line
  2. To Finalize the operation plan for Various services for BRT Orange & Green Line
  3. Review and monitor the process of procurement for essential BRT services including selection of the Preferred Bidder and signing of the Contract Agreement.
  4. To prepare & develop Financial and Business Models of the Project.
  5. To assist SIDCL in all technical, financial, legal and other matters pertaining to Intra-district project.
  6. Assist SIDCL in administering the bidding process for evaluation of bids from developers and implementation of the project.
  7. Negotiations with the Operator / Developer and Finalization of Agreement.
  8. Drafting and execution of any other agreements needed for achieving commercial operations of the Project.
  9. Any other assignment that may be given by SIDCL with respect to the project.
  10. To Deploy Technical Team for First Year of Operation Phase.
