Narrative Description of Project:

Liquid Cargo Terminal (LCT) has been established at Port Qasim on Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. LCT’s objective is to provide efficient, economical, safe and secure berthing of bulk liquid tankers and services to its customers through effective utilization of resources. Project cost was PKR 780 Million (USD 13.0 Million) LCT is the first dedicated Edible Oils Jetty in Private Sector, capable of berthing vessels (Tankers) up to 35,000 DWT carrying liquid cargoes of Edible Oils / Molasses etc. It is a state-of-the-art Terminal constructed through internationally renowned Marine Contractor – STFA Marine Construction Company of Turkey. LCT has been commissioned and commenced operations with effect from 30th March 2009. Significant importance is attached to LCT as it adds to the infrastructure development of the Port Qasim, with practically no waiting time for vessel berthing, hence avoidance of demurrage and quick turnaround due to higher discharge rate.
