Narrative Description of Project:

This development with the total GFA being 19,656 sqm has predominantly office land use with a small area on ground floor reserved for commercial activity. The project is located in Al Mohammadiah and is bounded by Fatima Az Zahra Road, Ibrahem Al Anqari Road and King Abdul Aziz Service Road. Detailed Traffic Impact Study of the building along with its extended road network was analyzed with the help of micro simulation tools i.e. PTV VISTRO to recommend the best possible circulation pattern for the traffic generated by visitors of building.

Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff within the Assignment:

  • The project involved the development of a calibrated microsimulation model, utilizing PTV VISTRO, to analyze various conditions. The study area focused on six junctions within the network. The project scope encompassed the collection of turning movement counts and delay data for all six junctions.
  • Additionally, the project involved estimating trip generation by utilizing resources such as the ITE Trip Rate Manual and Riyadh Trip Generation Manual. Trip distribution was also considered in the analysis.
  • The development of a calibrated microsimulation model for the network was a crucial aspect of the project. Policy testing was conducted to assess the impact of different policies on the traffic projections for a 10-year period.
  • Furthermore, the project aimed to recommend changes required in the traffic network to accommodate additional buildings. Preliminary alternatives for improving the road infrastructure were also developed.
