Narrative Description of Project:

In order to improve public transportation system in various cities of Sindh Government of Sindh (GoS), the Transport and Mass Transit Department (TMTD) through Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) desires to induct good quality public transport buses and operators on competitive intra city routes. As a beginning phase, the GoS desires to induct a fleet of about 250 buses in 6 cities. These cities include Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkano, Shaheed Benazirabad and Mirpur Khas. Transaction Advisory Services for the Project pertains to feasibility study, operations plan, development of financial Model & request for proposals and project implementation support.

Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff within the Assignment:

Transaction Advisory Services for the Project pertains to feasibility study, operations plan, development of financial Model & request for proposals and project implementation support. Scope of Work included:

To prepare & develop Transport Model for High Demand Corridors.

To prepare Public Transport Operations Plan.

To prepare Traffic Management Plan & Concept Design of Bus Depots / Terminals.

To prepare study at par with International standards that can serve as feasibility for implementing an integrated Bus operation project in Karachi and other cities of Sindh.

Review and monitor the process of procurement including selection of the Preferred Bidder and signing of the Contract Agreement.

To prepare & develop Financial and Business Models of the Project.

To assist SMTA in all technical, financial, legal and other matters pertaining to Intra-district project.

Assist SMTA in administering the bidding process for evaluation of bids from developers and implementation of the project.

Negotiations with the Operator / Developer and Finalization of Agreement.

Drafting and execution of any other agreements needed for achieving commercial operations of the Project.

Any other assignment that may be given by SMTA with respect to the project.
