Narrative Description of Project:
Hyderabad is the second largest city of Sindh province. The city has a population of about 1.7 million, however the public transport service & allied infrastructure is rudimentary. The City is characterized by narrow road widths primarily because of temporary encroachment. The project is likely to proceed on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model through an investor. An unsolicited proposal was provided to Government of Sindh for consideration of financial and technical features for subsequent approval. . The project involves developing a World Class 3rd Generation System for Hyderabad. A total of 12 km dedicated infrastructure with 13 Stops. The System covers a length of about 70 km through 6 off corridors routes and 2 feeder services, thus giving a city-wide coverage. The system will have a mixed fleet of 12m and 8.5m fully electric vehicles and would serve an expected demand of about 100,00 passengers daily.
