Narrative Description of Project:

JICA prepared detailed feasibility study for revival of Karachi circular Railway (KCR) Project. The detailed feasibility study was named ‘Special Assistance for Project Formulation (SAPROF)’. The SAPROF study lead to a loan of USD 1,600 million. The ‘Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC)’ approved the project with a condition for 3rd party validation of SAPROF report. This project involved validation of all technical, social, financial & legal aspects of the project.
