Narrative Description of Project:
The purpose of this project is to:
- develop end user interface and collect data for a satellite-based water resources information system (WRIS) for Balochistan,
- collect feedback, fix bugs, and
- assist Remote Sensing Specialist 1 and 2 who will be recruited separately.
- Devise and develop a WEB based GIS system for sharing data/information among the Irrigation Department (ID), Government of Balochistan and other relevant agencies.
- Test the system with Target Agencies and collect feedback for further improvement.
- Fix the bugs encountered during the project operation to deliver and install final version of the system towards the end of project.
Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff within the Assignment:
- Conduct needs assessment on the GIS-based visualization system after analyzing exiting and actual requirements of the system at ID;
- Define capacity building needs for system development and operation.
- Coordinate with other relevant local agencies on use of ICT infrastructure for operating the GIS-based data sharing and visualization system
- Assess available data (availability in geographical extent, frequency, etc

In coordination with Remote Sensing Specialist 1 and 2, prepare the list of required data, and in consultation with ID collect all the data from
- existing data at Target Agencies,
- surveys data
- data prepared by other consultants, and
- necessary freely available data - locally and/or from web – and check their accuracy and integrity and make necessary data cleaning
- Assess capacity of data acquisition and processing by ID, and recommend necessary measures to be taken for sustainability of data maintenance to keep it up-to-date;
- Identify a process of data sharing modality/rules and operation of GIS-based data visualization system
- Define and categories data for

- general public (open access);
- Develop user manuals and training materials on GIS-based data sharing and visualization system for
