Narrative Description of Project:

Bundal Island is an island in Malir River’s delta. The island is almost the size of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi i.e. 50,000 sq. meters. The Island is situated a few kilometers distance from existing ‘DHA Golf Course’ in Phase VIII. Its view from DHA coast line presents an amazing sight to its viewers.

Land development in Bundal Island had been point of discussion for many years, until EMAAR Pakistan proposed this island as Diamond Bar Island City (DBIC). DBIC according to the developers shall be developed as a ‘Fully Self Contained City’ having various land uses for satisfying most of the traveling needs of DBIC residents as well as providing unmatched recreational facilities to the residents of city of Karachi.

Since DBIC is to be developed as an island, its internal connectivity to the nearest land would be via bridges over the sea. The project encompassed possible post construction traffic impacts of DBIC on DHA and nearby road infrastructure.
