Narrative Description of Project:

This project is a mixed land use building with the total GFA being 23,015.78 sq m on Al Kurnaysh Road comprising of Restaurants, Offices and Furnished Apartments land uses. The project site is located in Al Shati District on Al Kurnaysh Road and near to King Abdul Aziz Road. Detailed TIS of the building along with its extended road network was analyzed with the help of micro simulation tools i.e. PTV VISTRO to recommend the best possible circulation pattern for the building (both internally & externally).

Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff within the Assignment:

The project included development of a calibrated micro simulation model (using PTV VISTRO) for various conditions. The study area considered for this project consisted analysis of 6 junctions in the network. The project scope included
  • Collection of turning movement count and delay data for all the 6 junctions
  • Estimation of trip generation (using ITE Trip Rate Manual & Riyadh Trip Generation Manual)
  • Trip distribution
  • Development of calibrated micro simulation model of the network
  • Policy testing for 10 year traffic projections
  • Recommendations on changes needed in the traffic network for accommodating traffic of other adjacent buildings
  • Development of preliminary alternatives for suggested improvement in road infrastructure network
